How to recreate the impression of vertigo?
The idea came to me from a small bridge spanning a precipice above the Ubaye river in the Alps.
The eye naturally follows the course of the stream and then loses its marks as it moves towards the opposite horizon; it tries to hold on to details in this vast panorama and is finally drawn into the vanishing lines of the image.
This image is a real panorama (I sometimes joke that it is the proof that the Earth is round), it is not a drone photograph. It is based on the composition of more than 80 shots, totaling nearly 2 billion pixels, and on a meticulous digital assembly for which I did not count the hours and days.
This image is in many ways unique.
