Antediluvian

In the peaceful waters of the Everglades lives a fearsome predator, an indestructible animal. It appeared on earth over 200 million years ago; it lived alongside the dinosaurs during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, in lands with extraordinary names such as "Pangea" or "Gondwana"; and it survived the mass extinction that ended the era of the dinosaurs and 3/4 of the planet's species 65 million years ago. So what's the worst that can happen to it? How is it possible that several crocodilian species are now at risk of extinction? Well, it's the same as for many other endangered species today: habitat destruction, deforestation, poaching, and last but not least, pollution leading to reproductive failure. I wanted to give this image a "zoology collection" effect to echo these issues. It's a particular panorama, improvised by reflex as the alligator slowly moves through the black water below me; I was able to "scan" it in a dozen shots as it progressed through the field of my lens, to achieve this effect after a long process of reconstruction
