THE WAVE

A mountain road at night in southern Utah, snow flurries are breaking in a white storm, I start to doubt if I will reach my destination. Finally, luck is on my side. It will be again the next morning at the Ranger's station for the draw of the lucky few who will be able to continue with a day hike to a mythical place of the American West: "The Wave". A work of art of Nature. A geological phenomenon creating a series of giant waves with ochre and golden colours in the middle of which one can sink. For a long time I had imagined this scenery and the images I could create; it was the abstract vision that led me into a geometric conceptualisation that I was finally able to concretise several years later on this very special day.
